Taste of Defeat
Striking, Retreating,
Then striking again.
Hate, Hunger, exhilaration.
One lump of emotion.
And then… pain.
Crimson colors paint the ground,
The air flowing with life's essence.
Time slows, then stops.
In that moment,
The moment before death, Eternal rest, sleep,
All was made clear.
Memory flashes, and the brutal, final realization,
That life is at an end.
The taste of defeat,
That horrid, sour taste,
Forever lingering.
The last feelings still clung on,
Attached and imprinted on the very soul that gave life.
Hate, Hunger, and…
Sorrow.
All is lost,
Time continues normally, forgetting, forgiving.
Never-end
A Cry in the Night
Keepers of Darkness,
Keepers of Light,
Can you not hear a cry in the night?
A cry of sorrow is heard,
When darkness is at the peak of its might,
There it is again,
A cry in the night.
Seemingly harmless,
Can't even stand there and fight.
But you don't get it at all,
It will give you one hell of a fright.
A cry in the night,
A hint of pain is in the air.
And then, as if by a switch,
The cry is cut off,
And never heard again there.
But sometimes, if you listen real closely,
And without any light,
You'll hear it again,
A Cry in the Night
A Cry in the Night

God's robes flapped around him as he looked over the edge and onto the street below.
"Don't do it! Don't do it!" cried the security guard behind him.
God said nothing, climbing onto the raised edge of the building. Five storeys below, people were beginning to take notice.
"Jesus Christ! Look!
"Oh my god!"
"Where's my camera?"
He turned and faced the security guard, who stopped walking and gazed upon the face of God. He'd been crying.
"But... why? You've got so much to live for..."
God gave a wan smile. "So have all of you."
He spread his arms wide, closed his eyes and breathed a deep sigh, falling back and off the building.

I appreciate your cooperation, Orin-mevar. I must say that it is refreshing to see an individual who does not respond to comments with a series of dull-witted insults. I had figured that wrong-doing was not your intent, so I felt that I should inform you of the situation, before things got out of hand.
